A Rhode Island sublease agreement temporarily grants possession of a tenant’s dwelling to another individual. Under this arrangement, the sublessor is bound to the provisions of both the original lease and sublease. If the sublessee defaults on rent, damages the unit, or otherwise breaches the lease, the sublessor is liable for resolving the issue.
