A Wyoming notary acknowledgment is a certificate that is used to authenticate the signature on a legal document. The document will include the signer’s name, the date of acknowledgment, and the notary’s signature, name, title, and commission expiration date. Before completing the certificate, the notary public must witness the signature and confirm the signer’s identity and that they signed without coercion.
The secretary of state commissions notaries public to six-year terms (§ 32-3-120(e)).
Is Online Notarization Legal in Wyoming?
Yes. In accordance with the Wyoming Revised Uniform Law on Notarial Acts, remote online notarization (RON) is permitted as long as the certificate specifies that the acknowledgment was made remotely.
Notaries are required to make audio-visual recordings of all RONs and keep a written journal of all the notarial acts they complete.
