Payment Types

A Social Security direct deposit form can be used for five different types of Social Security and retirement payments. If the payee wants direct deposit for multiple payment types, a separate form must be completed for each one.

The five Social Security payment types are:

  1. Social Security
  2. Supplemental Security income
  3. Veteran Affairs (VA)
  4. Railroad Retirement (annuity or survivor benefit)
  5. Civil Service Retirement (retirement or survivor annuity)
