How to Format

Layout

  • The standard deed dimensions are 8.5” x 11”. However, deeds up to 8.5” x 14” are accepted.[1]
  • Side margins must be at least 0.5”. The top margin should be at least 2.5”.[2]
  • There must be a 3.5″ wide space at the top left of the document for the return address and the information of the individual submitting the deed.

Signatures

A deed must be signed by the grantor and notarized.[3]

Recording

A signed and notarized deed can be brought to the County Recorder’s Office for filing.[4] Filing fees cannot be over $10 for the first page and $3 for each page thereafter.[5]
