An Arkansas notary acknowledgment is used to confirm that a signature on a document is legitimate and was done so by the person’s own free will. To make an acknowledgment, the signing party must present identification to the notary and then have them review the document and witness their signature. The acknowledgment form will be completed, signed, and sealed by the notary to validate the document.
Notaries must renew their term of commission every ten years (§ 21-14-101(a)(2)).
Is Online Notarization Legal in Arkansas?
Yes, on April 26, 2021, Senate Bill 340 was passed which allows documents to be notarized online.
