How to Format

Layout

  • Deeds must be recorded on paper not larger than 8.5″ x 14″.[1]
  • Font size must be at least 10pt.[2]
  • Additional recording standards may be required at the county level (e.g., Jefferson County).

Signatures

The signatures on a warranty deed must be notarized.[3]

Recording

Properly executed deeds can be filed with the County Clerk’s Office in the county where the property is located.[4] The recording fee for deeds is approximatey $32 for the first 5 pages and $1 for each additional page (at the time of writing).[5]
