A Mississippi subcontractor agreement is a written contract entered into by a contractor and a subcontractor that outlines the terms and conditions of their working arrangement. This agreement includes provisions such as a description of the services to be performed, payment amount and schedule, completion date, how the agreement may be terminated, and whether the subcontractor has the right to subcontract their services to a third party.

In addition to the aforementioned terms and conditions, the subcontractor agreement helps define the relationship between the parties. More specifically, it indicates that the subcontractor is not an employee of the general contractor; i.e., the subcontractor is responsible for completing the services using their own methods and schedule (in accordance with industry standards) and for maintaining the proper liability insurance and business licenses.
