A Texas rental application enables landlords to obtain the background information of lease applicants before authorizing a residential tenancy agreement. Landlords will assess the applicant’s financial and employment details to make certain they are capable of making timely rent payments. Furthermore, a signed application enables the landlord to conduct a criminal background and credit check to expose any issues that could dissuade them from renting to the applicant. The criteria for the landlord’s screening procedure should be communicated to the applicant before they execute the application form.
