The West Virginia sublease agreement enables a tenant (the sublessor) to rent the space they’ve been leasing to another individual (the sublessee) for the rest of their current rental term or a portion thereof. Subleasing may be strictly forbidden by the landlord or permissible only with their prior written consent. A sublease agreement presents risks to the sublessor as well; even while the property is being subleased, the sublessor remains liable for fulfilling the rental obligations designated in the master lease. Therefore, if the sublessee doesn’t pay rent when required, the sublessor will bear the responsibility of furnishing payment for the balance due.
