Arizona Concealed Carry Permit

A permit is not required to carry a concealed firearm in Arizona.

That said, concealed carry weapon (CCW) permits are available to Arizona residents and U.S. citizens 21 and older. The permit allows the holder to carry a concealed weapon in certain public areas where firearms are not otherwise prohibited.[3]

Eligible persons can apply for the permit by completing these steps[4]:

  1. Gather the below supporting documents:
    • Firearm training certification
    • Proof of Identity – A photo ID and, for applicants born outside the U.S., proof of citizenship or alien status. Non-citizens must also provide a PR card or similar document and proof of Arizona residency.
    • Fingerprint cards – May be obtained at a Law Enforcement Office.
    • Fees
  2. Complete the Concealed Weapons Permit Application for in-person or mail applications, or use the online application. Submit all the documents via the online portal, in person at the DPS Public Service Center, or by mail to:
