Oregon Concealed Carry

To legally carry a concealed weapon, residents other than state/federal officers or active service members must carry a Concealed Handgun License.[3]

Residents can apply for a handgun license by following the steps below.[4]

  1. Complete an approved concealed handgun or firearms safety class (this online course meets the criteria).
  2. Visit the website of their county sheriff’s office.
  3. Download the concealed handgun license application form (the form varies by county).
  4. Make an appointment with county sheriff’s office.
  5. Visit their county sheriff’s office, present valid ID, and hand over the application form and required application fees. If approved, the applicant will receive their license within 45 days.
