Connecticut Pistol Permit
A valid Connecticut Pistol Permit (CTPP) is required to concealed carry. Individuals 21 and over may apply for the permit with the steps outlined below.[5]
How to Apply
- Complete and submit in person to a law enforcement agency the following:
- Pistol Permit/Eligibility Certificate Application
- Firearms Safety & Use Course Certificate – Provided by an approved instructor.
- Application fee payment
- Proof of citizenship (or lawful residency in the U.S.)
- Obtain a fingerprint scan at the law enforcement agency’s direction.
- If approved, a temporary permit will be issued. Within 60 days of approval, submit the following in person to a Special Licensing & Firearms Unit:
- Temporary permit – Known as the “Temporary State Permit to Carry Pistols and Revolvers.”
- Application for State Permit to Carry Pistols and Revolvers – Provided by the law enforcement agency.
- Application fee payment
- Proof of citizenship (or lawful residency in the U.S.)
