South Carolina Concealed Carry

South Carolinians can legally carry a concealed weapon if they have a valid Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP). To get a CWP, individuals must be 21 or older and have passed a firearms training course.

Applicants can apply for a CWP online at IdentoGO or follow the below steps to apply by mail.

  1. Complete the South Carolina Concealed Weapon Permit Application.
  2. Attach two completed and signed fingerprint cards to the application.
  3. Gather necessary documentation:
    • Photocopy driver’s license or ID card
    • Proof of residence
    • Proof of actual or corrected vision (if driver’s license isn’t attached)
    • Proof of handgun training
  4. Mail the application and required documentation to the following address:
