Texas Concealed Carry

Texas residents who are 21 or older can carry a concealed or holstered firearm in permitted locations without a license.

Residents can still apply for a License to Carry a Handgun (LTC) from the Department of Public Safety (DPS) using the online service. The following documentation and identification should be gathered before proceeding:

  • Valid driver’s license or identification card
  • Current address and contact information
  • Residential and employment information for the last 5 years
  • Mental and criminal history
  • Valid credit card
