Kansas Boat Registration
Any boat powered by a motor or sail must be registered with the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism.
New owners can register both online and in person. If registering in person, they’ll have to submit a completed Application for Certificate of Number to a State Park Office, Administrative Office, or Boat Registration Agent with the following supporting documents and payment[1]:
- Valid ID
- SSN or KDWP number
- Boat Bill of Sale
- Photo or tracing of boat’s HIN
- Payment for registration fee
Alternatively, the boat owner can send their filing packet to the address below to register by mail.
