Oregon Boat Registration
All motorboats, and sailboats over 12 feet long, require registration and titling.[1]
Registration must be done within 30 days of purchase, after which the buyer will be charged late fees.[2] To register a vessel, new owners must carry out the below steps.
- Prepare the originals of the following documents (it is recommended that the buyer makes copies for their records).[3]
- Certificate of Title – Must have the release section signed by the seller.
- Application for Title and Registration
- Notarized Bill of Sale – If the boat has never been titled or registered.[4]
- Submit the documents and applicable title and registration fees in person to an OSMB agent or via mail to:
