A Tennessee limited power of attorney is executed by a principal so they can appoint an agent to complete specific assignments on their behalf. These assignments may be related to banking, real property, personal property, or any other personal or business-related duties. An agent is only allowed to perform the specific tasks outlined in the document, and they must always act with the principal’s best interests in mind.

A limited power of attorney is not durable, meaning it becomes void if the principal is no longer capable of making decisions for themselves. The document may terminate upon the agent’s completion of their assignments, the termination date set forth in the agreement, or upon the signing of a revocation form by the principal, whichever option selected by the principal occurs first.

Signing Requirements – Not mentioned in state statutes.
