Right to Inspect

Before collecting any deposit, the landlord must give the tenant a checklist of the unit’s condition. Tenants have the right to inspect a unit to verify the checklist before moving in.[1]

Landlords must complete a second checklist at the tenancy’s end to determine any deductions from the security deposit.[2] Tenants may perform an inspection to confirm the landlord’s findings.
