How to Format

Layout

  • The first page must have a 3″ x 3″ margin in the top right corner, and all other pages must have 1″ x 3″ margin in the top right corner.[1]
  • Some counties may reject documents with a paper size exceeding 8.5” x 14”.[2]

Signatures

The grantor must sign the deed in the presence of two witnesses.[3] The document must also be acknowledged by a notary public.[4]

Recording

Once signed by all the required parties, the deed can be recorded with the clerk at the Circuit Court in the county where the property is located.[5] The recording cost is $10 for the first page, and $8.50 for each additional page.[6]
