A Wisconsin designation of TOD beneficiary, or “transfer on death deed,” is used to name a person or entity who will receive ownership of a property once the current owner passes away. This method of conveyance allows a decedent’s real property to bypass probate and be immediately transferred to the new owner (the “beneficiary”). The transferring owner will have the same property rights while they’re alive, and they may transfer the title and revoke the transfer on death deed as they please. In addition to designating a beneficiary, the property owner can actually use this form to revoke a previously recorded transfer on death deed.
