The South Dakota 3-day notice to quit for term expiration is a document that can be served on a tenant if they fail to vacate the premises of a rental property following the expiration of their term. The landlord can serve this document as soon as the tenant has not left the property in time, allowing them three (3) additional days to leave before a Forcible Detainer and Entry action is filed against them. This notice is only applicable for leases that do not automatically renew at the beginning of each term.
