Texas Boat Registration

Motorboats and non-motorized boats 14 feet in length or more must be registered.[1] The buyer must submit their title application within 45 days of purchase to avoid late fees.[2]

Registration and titling can be done by completing the following steps:

  1. Collect the following documents:
  2. Submit the documents to a TPWD Office or a participating County Office.
  3. Pay the applicable registration and titling fees and sales tax.
