A Connecticut independent contractor agreement allows a contractor to enter into a binding agreement with a client to complete a job in exchange for financial compensation. The contract will relay the type of service provided, the contractor’s payment, the term of the agreement, and the project’s due date.

In addition to providing the fundamental details of the transaction, the document affirms the contractor’s independent status. As a freelancer, the contractor is free to determine their own hours and work method. However, the contractor will not be entitled to employee benefits and will need to file and pay income taxes as a 1099 contractor.
