An Indiana independent contractor agreement is a binding contract made between a client and an independent contractor to set forth the terms and conditions related to the exchange of services for payment. The client, which may be a business entity or an individual, hires the contractor to complete a job for them and in return agrees to compensate them financially, the amount and schedule of which will be defined in the agreement.

Since the client is not the contractor’s employer, the contractor is free to complete the services in the manner of their choosing and on their own schedule. However, the contractor is obliged to accomplish the job in accordance with industry standards and within the time frame provided in the agreement.
