An Oklahoma independent contractor agreement is a legal document that enables a freelancer to begin providing their services to a client. The agreement ensures both parties mutually agree to their roles and responsibilities, the contractor’s compensation and self-employed status, and the indemnification of the client’s liability.

Once both parties sign the agreement, it can be used as proof that the contractor is not the client’s employee, thus exempting them from paying employment/payroll taxes or providing employee benefits.
