An Alabama subcontractor agreement is used for hiring a subcontractor to complete a specific task in relation to a much larger project. A subcontractor is a self-employed professional that offers a set of services in exchange for one-time or regular payments. Subcontractors can be hired by the general contractor or by other subcontractors depending on the scope of the project. Unlike the general contractor, the subcontractor’s obligation is to the contractor that hired them, not the client.
The agreement provides clarification on how the subcontractor will be compensated, the service(s) they’ll be performing, the duration of the contract, and what they’ll be responsible for providing (e.g., equipment, materials, and labor). Once signed, both parties will be bound to its terms until the project is completed or the agreement is terminated.
