A Texas subcontractor agreement specifies the role and responsibilities of a subcontractor hired to work under a general contractor. It will include a description of the services provided, payment, when and where work will take place, and insurance requirements. The completed document will provide legal provisions for holding the contractor and client harmless of liability caused by the subcontractor, and the indemnification of the subcontractor if they are unable to complete their work due to forces outside of their control (e.g., disasters, emergencies).

Both parties should note that while the agreement between the contractor and subcontractor is distinct from the general contractor’s agreement with the client, all items stated in the subcontractor agreement must comply with the master contract.
