A Washington subcontractor agreement is drafted by a general contractor to subcontract a worker (the “subcontractor”) to undertake a section of a broader project. The agreement is used to keep track of the responsibilities and rights of each party, including who will be in charge of providing equipment/materials/transportation, and the specific tasks that the subcontractor must complete.

Furthermore, the completed document will verify the subcontractor’s status as an independent worker, establishing that they are not an employee and neither client nor contractor will be responsible for paying employment taxes or providing benefits.
