The New Hampshire 7-day notice to quit (for substantial damage/nuisance) is an eviction notice that is used when a tenant or their family has significantly damaged the rental property or has endangered the health and safety of other tenants or the landlord. This notice can also be used if the tenant refuses to temporarily relocate themselves for the landlord to mitigate the presence of lead paint on the premises. The notice must be served on the tenant by the landlord in person or by leaving it conspicuously posted on the rental property. The tenant must move out by the end of the seven (7) day period or face legal action to have them forcibly evicted.
