Massachusetts Limited Power of Attorney Form

Massachusetts limited power of attorney is a form that gives power to a financial representative to carry out a singular task or set of tasks. Limited POAs often restrict the agent’s authority to a one-time event, like signing a real estate document while the principal is unavailable. The form usually expires once the agent completes their duties or the termination date is reached.

Signing Requirements

Although no signing requirements exist for powers of attorney in Massachusetts, notarization is considered standard practice. However, the principal’s signature must be notarized if the POA authorizes real estate transactions.[1]
