The Maryland motor vehicle power of attorney (Form VR-470) is a form that allows vehicle owners the ability to grant a representative (also known as an “attorney-in-fact”) the authority to perform tasks relating to a motor vehicle in their stead. This representative may carry out a number of tasks in the owner’s place, such as, but not limited to, registration and transfer of ownership. This power of attorney only applies to a single vehicle, and it must be identified by its make, body type, year, and VIN (vehicle identification number.) The vehicle owner(s), as well as the attorney-in-fact, must provide their full name and mailing address in this particular document.
Signing Requirements – Vehicle Owner and Co-Owner.
