A North Dakota limited power of attorney is a legal form that authorizes an agent to complete a set of assignments and duties on behalf of an individual (the “principal”). Common tasks include executing documents, managing finances, handling investments, and making decisions in the principal’s name. The arrangement is non-durable, which means that it automatically expires if the principal is incapacitated. As a “limited” power of attorney, it is limited in the scope of powers assigned to the agent and will terminate after the agent has completed the required actions or the expiration date is reached. Although notarization of the principal’s signature isn’t required, it is strongly recommended.

Signing Requirements – Not mentioned in state statutes.
