A Florida sublease agreement is a type of rental contract between two (2) individuals, a sublessor and a sublessee, that establishes an arrangement whereby the sublessee rents residential property that the sublessor is leasing. The completed form sets forth certain rights, obligations, and duties by which the sublessee must abide, including the amount of rent and payment date, deposits and other fees, rules and duties for maintaining the condition of the premises, and liability. The sublessee is liable to the sublessor; however, the sublessor will always be liable to the landlord and will be responsible for making any payments or repairing damages should the sublessee be in default of the sublease.
