Idaho Sublease Agreement

An Idaho sublease agreement is a type of rental contract that transfers rental obligations from a tenant to a subtenant who has agreed to rent all or a portion of the rental property. Even though the sublease states that the subtenant is accountable for rent payments and other duties, the original tenant (sublessor) remains liable to the terms of the original lease.

Right to Sublet – There are no state laws on subleasing, but the state Landlord-Tenant Guide asserts that the tenant can sublet unless the original lease does not allow subleasing. Consent from the landlord is usually recommended.[1]
