The Kansas move-in/move-out checklist is a form used both at the start and end of a tenancy agreement to report damage to the rental property and any appliances, furniture, or other items included in the lease. Kansas residential property laws state that a written inventory of the premises shall be made by the landlord and tenant jointly within the first five (5) days of occupancy. During this initial inspection, both parties will walk through the interior and exterior of the dwelling and record any and all issues they encounter. When the tenant returns possession to the landlord, the checklist will be completed once again and subsequently compared with the original report to determine whether the tenant is financially responsible for cleaning or repairs.
