A New York rental application form is a document whereby individuals who are interested in renting residential property provide the landlord with their personal and financial information, as well as their consent to credit and background checks. Landlords will use this form as a key part of their application process for filling vacancies in their property. By verifying the applicant’s identity, rental history, income, and credit score, the landlord will be able to make an informed decision when selecting a tenant. The landlord may charge an application fee when a credit report and criminal background check are required.
