Washington rental application is used by landlords to determine whether a prospective tenant is a viable candidate for tenancy. The applicant will be required to provide their personal details, including credit references, employer history, and contact information of their current and prior landlords. After the form has been signed, the landlord will be permitted to run a credit check and any other inquiries that they deem necessary. In accordance with state law (§ 59.18.257), the landlord’s criteria for rejecting applications must be communicated to applicants before obtaining any information.

Application Fee (§ 59.18.257(1)(b)(ii)) – The landlord may only charge the tenant for the actual cost of the screening process.
