Alaska Concealed Carry
Alaska law does not require a concealed handgun permit in order to conceal carry a firearm. So long as the individual is over 21 and can legally own a firearm, they can conceal carry. Residents can still obtain a permit if they wish (lasts five years).
The application must be filed in-person at an office of the Alaska State Troopers, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, or a local police department that takes applications. The following is required for the application[2]:
- A completed Application for a Concealed Handgun Permit
- A valid driver’s license or ID card
- A non-refundable fee
- A certificate showing the applicant completed a handgun course within the past 12 months
- A set of fingerprints
- A “quality” picture of the applicant, taken within 30 days of application
