Arizona Boat Registration
Every motorized boat must be registered to operate on Arizona waterways legally.[1] When purchasing a used boat, new owners must apply to transfer the registration within 15 days of the transaction.[2] Arizona does not issue boat titles.
To transfer ownership and register, the new owner should complete the Application for Arizona Watercraft Certificate of Number form and bring it along with the completed Bill of Sale to an Arizona Game and Fish Department (AGAFD) office. The applicant must pay a registration fee to complete the process.
The AGAFD has authorized registration through certain third-party providers, which they’ve listed on their website for convenience.
Watercraft Sold Notice – The boat’s former owner must inform the AGAFD of the sale of their boat within 15 days of the sale.[3]
