1. Gather DocumentsThe vehicle’s owner will need to prepare for registration and title transfer by gathering the following documents[2]:
Colorado Motor Vehicle Power of Attorney – This form permits a property owner to designate another party (the “agent”) to act on their behalf to handle motor vehicle transactions. 2. File DocumentsWhen the owner has all the required documentation, they may visit a County Motor Vehicle Office to title and register their vehicle. Registration must always be done in person for used vehicles.
3. Pay FeesThe new owner will be required to pay certain taxes and fees to complete the registration. Fees vary per county and are based on the weight and type of vehicle being registered.[6]
