1. Prepare to ApplyThe buyer must gather the following before applying for a certificate of title and license plates:
Wisconsin Motor Vehicle Power of Attorney – Allows a person to designate a representative for handling vehicle-related affairs and transactions. 2. Register OnlineBuyers may submit their application online by providing the above documents and submitting their date of birth and social security number. To complete the application, they must pay a service fee. 3. Register In Person (Optional)Alternatively, applications can be submitted in person at a DMV customer service center, accompanied by an additional $5 fee for in-person services. 4. Mail ReceiptOnce the online registration process is completed, the buyer must mail the eApplication Receipt and the seller’s original title to: WisDOT-eMV Public If the vehicle has a lien, they must mail the original lien release as well. |
