New Mexico Concealed Carry
New Mexico residents must have a concealed carry license to carry a concealed handgun legally. Residents will need to complete the following to obtain a license[3]:
- Complete a certified gun safety course with a certified instructor.
- Get fingerprinted at the sheriff’s department. An appointment may be made online with the IdentGo service.[4]
- Gather the following documentation:
- Completed Concealed Handgun License Application
- Completed Authorization to Obtain Health Information
- Completed Authorization for Release of Information
- Two fingerprint cards
- Two color photographs
- A certified copy of the applicant’s birth certificate
- Training certificate from completed gun safety course
- Proof of residency
- Copy of the applicant’s driver’s license or ID card
- Application fee
- Submit the application, supporting documents, and fee to the Department of Public Safety (DPS) either online or by mail to:
