North Carolina Concealed Carry
North Carolina allows individuals aged 21 or older to carry a concealed weapon if they have a valid permit.[2]
Though the specifics of each county’s application procedure may differ, the following generally applies:
- The applicant must first complete an approved firearms safety and training course before applying.[3]
- Once the course is complete, the applicant must go to their county sheriff’s office and submit the following[4]:
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license or state I.D.
- Certificate of completion for firearms training
- Completed CCH Application form, signed under oath (form will be provided by the sheriff)
- Completed Concealed Handgun Permit Release Form
- The required permit and fingerprinting fees[5]
- The sheriff should inform the applicant within 45 days of the approval or denial of their permit.[6]
