An Iowa general bill of sale is a proof of purchase completed after the sale of personal property. After it has been filled out, the bill of sale establishes a legal transfer of ownership of any item sold to an individual from a private seller. This generic template can be useful if the buyer has to prove ownership of the property at a later date. Once the parties have signed the bill of sale, it establishes that the seller has surrendered ownership, and that the buyer has accepted the property in its current condition.
