A Louisiana general bill of sale is produced when two (2) parties intend on completing a private sale of personal property and wish to document the transaction. It is not a legal requirement that private sales be recorded, but the parties may find it beneficial. The buyer can prove ownership after the purchase and the seller relinquishes liability for the condition of the property. This generic bill of sale form allows the parties to enter their personal information, write a description of the items sold, detail the price of the items, and inscribe their signatures.
