Tennessee Concealed Carry
Tennessee residents may still apply for a Concealed Handgun Carry Permit (CCP) as long as they are 21 years of age or older. To be permitted to both open and concealed carry, residents must apply for an Enhanced Handgun Carry Permit (EHCP).
To apply for either type of permit, a resident must complete the following steps:
- Complete training requirements and obtain a certificate of proof (see EHCP/CCP training requirements)
- Fill out the online application on the Department of Safety and Homeland Security website.
- Visit a Driver Services Center and provide the following:
- Application fee
- Proof of training (plus CCP Proof of Training form if applying for CCP)
- Proof of citizenship or permanent residency (originals, not copies)
- SSN
- Driver’s license (or two proofs of residency)
