A Texas general bill of sale is used to transfer goods from one party to another and to provide a record of the transaction once complete. This generic form can serve as a sales receipt for any type of property sold, and once signed by both parties, it becomes definitive evidence that the ownership has changed hands. Prior to inscribing their signatures, the seller or buyer will want to provide a description of the items sold, the price thereof, and the date that the transaction took place. If the property being sold is of significant value, the parties may wish to seek out a notary public to witness their signing.
