State Guidelines

  1. The deed must be signed by the seller in the presence of a notary public and two witnesses, who are also required to sign.[1]
  2. Deeds are recorded with the Clerk of Court’s Office in the area where the property is located.
  3. The recording fees for deeds as of this writing is $100 for the first 5 pages and $200 for documents up to 25 pages.[2]
  4. The formatting requirements are[3]:
    • Printed on 8.5″ x 11″ or 8.5″ x 14″ paper
    • 2” top margin on the first page and 1” margin on all other sides and pages
    • 8-point minimum typeface size
