A California independent contractor agreement establishes the terms by which a freelance worker (the “contractor”) will provide services to the individual or company that hires them (the “client”). Once completed, the document will include the names and contact information for the contractor and client, the scope of the tasks that the contractor must complete, how much they will be paid, and how/when the contract will terminate. By executing the agreement, both parties commit to upholding their obligations and affirm the contractor’s self-employed status.
