A Hawaii independent contractor agreement is made between a client and a contractor for the purposes of outlining the terms and conditions of their business relationship in writing. An independent contractor is a professional hired by an individual or entity (the client) to complete a service, such as construction, landscaping, interior design, marketing, photography, etc.
The independent contractor is not under the client’s employ; i.e., the contractor will complete the work using their own methods and their own schedule, with the client only having control over the final result. The agreement between the parties covers all the details of the arrangement including the list of services to be provided, amount and schedule of payment, length of the agreement, expenses, and liability provisions like insurance, licenses, and indemnification.
